SCZone partners with SCCT to develop East Port Said port

Cairo - Mubasher: The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has signed an agreement with Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) to raise the competitiveness of East Port Said port.

The partnership between the SCZone and the SCCT will contribute to attracting more international shipping lines to East Port Said, the Chairman of SCZone, Yehia Zaki said during a press conference held on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, SCCT CEO Lars Vang Christensen, noted that the company will inject over $50 million investments in the East Port Said port to enhance the port's competitiveness.

Through these investments, the company seeks to develop the port's practices, enable it to accommodate the lastest giant ships, and facilitate the movement of containers with the use of the latest technologies, Christensen added.
