SEC to implement projects worth SAR 4.6bn at Waad Al-Shamal

Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), the state-owned utility, has signed an agreement worth SAR 4.6 billion for establishing a power station at Waad Al Shamal and linking it to the electric network.

The move comes in line with the government's directives of reducing reliance on oil and gas, and finding alternative sources, said SEC Chairman Saleh Al-Awaji.

He added that the project will be completed by 2018.
