SNOC, Uniper create venture for LNG import facility

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Sharjah National Oil Company (SNOC) and Germany's Uniper created a joint venture (JV) to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) into Hamriyah Port in Sharjah, Reuters reported.

The new facility will start operating by early 2019, the news agency added.

First gas deliveries from Hamriyah port will be to Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) as part of a ten-year supply contract.

The project will have a capacity of 3-4 million tonnes of LNG per year and send out a capacity of 500 million-1 billion standard cubic feet per day.
