Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and defence technology group Thales on Monday launched the cloud encryption service for enterprise customers in Saudi Arabia.
The encryption services will enable the customers to protect and control their data in the cloud.
Thales is a French company which provides organisations with security and trust in data wherever data is created, shared or stored without impacting business agility.
Thales will provide data encryption solutions through the STC’s cloud platform, and will develop secured Information Communications Technology (ICT) business in the Kingdom.
The French company provides Vormetric Transparent Encryption to encrypt sensitive data before leaving the enterprise through saving in the cloud storage environment.
Thales affirms that this solution will secure STC’s data.
“Digital transformation is at the heart of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for a strong, thriving and stable economy that provides opportunity for all,” STC’s Vice President Cloud Services, Talal Albakr stated.
“It is a common misconception that by moving to the cloud, businesses are relinquishing all control of their data,” Regional Sales Director, at Thales eSecurity Middle East, Africa and South Asia, Philip Schreiber says.
“By applying encryption and practicing secure encryption key management, companies can ensure that only authorised users have access to sensitive data,” Schreiber concluded.
