Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) intends to offer investment opportunities worth SAR 220 billion over the next five years.
The opportunities will be offered during Water Investments Forum that is supposed to be held in Riyadh on 27-28 November, according to a local newspaper citing Mansour Bin Abdullah Al Zenedy, an official at SWCC.
Al Zenedy expected that the desalinated water will reach 8.8 million cubic metres by the end of the next 15 years, which represents nearly the double of the existing, which will require building new water plants and maintaining the current ones.
Water desalination sector represents 60% of drinking water in the Kingdom; the private sector owns 30% of the sector.
