Riyadh-Mubasher: Sadara Basic Services Co., 100% indirectly owned by Sadara Chemical Co. (Sadara), has successfully started production at the polyethylene (PE) plant which will produce linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), using proprietary technology of The Dow Chemical Co.
The plant is the first of the 26 world scale plants that are being built at the Sadara complex located in Jubail Industrial City II.
The relevant financial impact is expected to appear in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The plant is designed to produce 375,000 metric tonnes per year of products used in specialty applications, such as the manufacturing of food grade plastics, industrial and consumer packaging and health and hygiene films.
Sadara has to date achieved more than 60% Saudisation as construction of the Sadara complex was 97% completed in November 2015.
