Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) is moving towards privatisation, Saleh Al-Jasser, general manager of Saudi Airlines, said on Wednesday.

The Saudi Airlines Cargo Company LLC's initial public offering (IPO) file will be submitted to the Capital Market Authority (CMA) to be offered for subscription on Tadawul, he added.

The general manager told Mubasher that the airline will receive 25 new jets in the coming three months.

Speaking about the civil aviation infrastructure, Al Jasser said that many projects are under construction, including Jeddah and Riyadh Airports, noting that the newly-inaugurated Hall 5 at King Khalid International Airport is operating at full capacity.

"As a national carrier, we have a strategic plan that includes developing and upgrading the fleet and boosting our  human sources in terms of operating efficiency," Al Jasser told Mubasher.

He added that Saudi Airlines targets reaching 45 million passengers by 2020, which requires increasing the company's workers, with a focus on operational jobs such as pilots, employees and receptionists.
