Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications to promote collaboration in the telecommunications sector.
Abdullah Al Swaha, the Saudi minister of communications and information technology, and Japan's communications minister Masatoshi Ishida signed the deal in the presence of a host of officials.
Al Swaha said that the deal focuses on human capital development and the quality of digital infrastructure, in addition to supporting technical industries.
The deal was signed on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Trade and Digital Economy that took place in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, in Japan during the period between 8 and 9 June.
The event is a preparation for the G20 summit 2019 that will take place in Osaka, Japan, that will be held on 29 June.
