Saudi Arabia, US ink 36 MoUs to boost cooperation

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi and US investors signed 36 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) at a combined value of more than SAR 75 billion ($20 billion) on the sidelines of the first day of the Saudi-US CEO Forum.

The forum kicked off in New York late Tuesday, 27 March, with attendance of more than 200 businessmen from the two countries.

The event aims to strike new partnerships and boost mutual economic ties and the bilateral trade between the two countries, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The deals have stretched from healthcare to industry, recreation, education, information technology, and telecommunication sectors, the state news agency added.

Saudi Aramco and Google signed a deal which focuses on providing national cloud services and other technological investment opportunities in the oil-rich kingdom.

There was also a 5-year initiative between ITHRA and National Geographic, in addition to a partnership between Aramco and Raytheon to launch national internet security services in Saudi Arabia.

Moreover, the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) signed a MoU with JPMorgan to consider the possibility of cooperation in industrial finance in the GCC nation.
