Saudi Arabia OKs 5-yr oil supplies to Sudan – Minister

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has agreed to provide oil supplies to Sudan for the coming five years, Sudan’s oil minister Abdul Rahman Osman said.

Sudan is at pains to plug the gap of fuel consumption, which reaches around 1.8 tonnes per year, according to Bloomberg News.

Sudan is to complete its talks with the GCC nation and the world's top oil exporter in the coming days, while the deal will be “guaranteed on credit by Saudi Arabia’s development bank,” Bloomberg reported, citing Osman as saying.

The African Arab nation has been facing a steep fuel shortage since April, coupled with its spiraling economic crunch.
