Riyadh – Mubasher: More travellers are favouring Saudi Arabia as a touristic destination, as shown by a recent YouGov research.
One in five tourists is more likely to visit Saudi Arabia for a vacation now than five years ago, according to the research that surveyed 9,521 people across the USA, China, and five key markets in Europe.
Since the Kingdom launched the new tourism visa in September, visitors from China, UK, Malaysia, US, and Canada have topped the list of new arrivals welcomed into Saudi Arabia, according to data by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH).
Historic sites are important touristic attractions, as 22% of participants in the recent survey are keen to visit Jeddah's historic old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Similarly, Al Ula is witnessing a growing interest amongst Chinese young tourists, the survey showed.
