Riyadh – Mubasher: The governor of Makkah province, Khalid Al Faisal, inked a SAR 3.2 billion agreement with a consortium of Nesma and Partners Contracting and Spanish transport company (TCC)
Under the agreement, the consortium will operate and carry out maintenance of the project for 10 years, in addition to supplying 400 buses and handling their operations and maintenance, according to an official statement.
The supplied buses include 240 regular buses with 40 seats and a capacity of 85 people, and 160 trolleybuses with 60 seats and a capacity of about 125 people, according to the statement.
The buses comprise hydraulic system to help people with special needs in ascending the buses easily along with WIFI and audiovisual information systems, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
King Salman Bin Abdulaziz approved on 4 February 2017 the implementation of the first phase of buses transportation project in Makkah.
