Saudi Arabia bans cow imports from Spain

Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has banned cow imports from Spain, according to a statement by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture.

The temporary ban was imposed by the ministry following the detection of mad cow disease in some farms in the country, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Sanad Al-Harbi, the director general of the department of animal risk assessment, revealed that the ministry imposed the ban after receiving a notification from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) confirming an emergence of the disease in Spain.
