Saudi Arabia develops $5bn rainwater recycling project in NEOM

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia is developing a $5 billion rainwater recycling project in NEOM, Gavin Van Tonder, water sector head at the kingdom’s major project, said.

Seven huge tanks will be built in several sites for collecting, desalinating, and reusing rainwater, Tonder told Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper.

The first phase of the project is projected to be completed by 2022, Tonder added, noting that 99% of the used water in the megacity will be recycled for drinking and other purposes.
