Saudi Arabia eyes injecting $8bn investments in Egypt

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said it run talks with Saudi General Investment Fund (GIF) to accelerate the injection of SAR 30 billion ($8 billion) worth of investments in Egypt in the near term.

GIF intends to focus more on projects within the fields of energy, housing and tourism.

The Egyptian government works on creating appealing investment environment, through offering incentives as well as guarantees to investors.

Last December, Saudi Arabia has pledged new support for Egypt’s economy in the form of oil assistance and $8 billion in additional investments in the country.
