Saudi Arabia finds candidate sites for ecotourism projects

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has identified five caves suitable for its strategy to build ecotourism destinations.

In line with the kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative, the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) is planning to launch the projects in 2019.

"We are now choosing easy access points for tourists, but will not announce the names and locations of the caves yet,” director of the cave unit and desert studies—SGS, Mahmoud Al Shanti, commented

The new attractions are expected to receive over 1,000 visitors per day, Al Shanti said.
