Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia on Thursday imposed a 24-hour curfew in Mecca and Medina effective immediately until further notice, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday quoting an official in the interior ministry as saying.
The entry and exit to the two holy cities will continue to be banned, except for all essential employees working in vital sectors.
The new directives aim to protect the health and safety of citizens and residents against the coronavirus pandemic, in light of the Saudi health authorities’ recommendations.
It is worth noting that the novel virus has infected more than 1,885 people in the kingdom and killed 21.
