Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) has signed a contract worth SAR 243 million to expand the first phase of the wastewater treatment plant in Al-Ahsa governorate, minister Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley said in a statement.
Expansion works for the deal signed with the National Water Company (NWC) will extend for three years.
This project is considered a part of MEWA’s plans to raise the efficiency of wastewater treatment services in Al-Ahsa region, Al-Fadley added.
The minister further noted that after expansion works are completed, the plant’s capacity will reach 360,000 cubic metres per day.
