Saudi Arabia issues 100K civil documents during lockdown

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Ministerial Agency of Civil Affairs has issued and home-delivered more than 100,000 documents, such as family register and birth certificates, to citizens during the lockdown period imposed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The process was facilitated via the interior ministry’s electronic platform, Absher, in collaboration with the agency’s service partners, namely: the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, and the Saudi Post, according to a press release on Monday.

The achievement comes in line with the digital transformation expansion approach adopted by the civil affair agency to smooth transactions and procedures, shifting away from the use of paper, and saving time and effort while improving the quality of the provided services.
