Saudi Arabia jumps 13 positions at IMD Competitiveness ranking

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia advanced 13 positions, coming in the 26th spot at IMD World Competitiveness ranking 2019.

The oil-rich kingdom has made the biggest progress among the most high-ranking competitiveness countries in the IMD ranking, according to a statement issued by the World Competitiveness Center.

The GCC nation occupied the 7th place among the group of twenty (G20) after passing a number of advanced economies in the world including South Korea, Japan, France, Indonesia, India, Turkey, and Mexico among others.

The IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2019 comprises four main axes to measure the competitiveness of 63 states across the world.

Saudi Arabia improved its rank in three fields as follows:

  • Government Efficiency from 30 to 18
  • Business Efficiency from 45 to 25
  • Infrastructure from 44 to 38
