Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia levelled up by two places since last year on the 2020 Global Innovation Index (GII) to rank the 66th globally, the National Competitiveness Center (NCC) said on Wednesday.
The GII is issued by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with Cornell University and INSEAD Institute.
The kingdom’s ranking has improved in three key pillars, including market development at 44th this year, compared to 47th last year.
In addition, Saudi took the 69th spot globally on the creativity index this year when compared to 86th a year ago and climbed up two positions on the institutions index to reach the 102nd place this year.
The GCC nation also rose in other pillars such as research and development (R&D) and telecommunication and information technology, among others.
