Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has deposited the first installment of SAR 2 billion ($533 million) into the kingdom's household allowance program, according to the minister of labor and social development, Ali Al-Ghafis.
This 10.6 million beneficiaries, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The citizens Account is a cash handout for low- and middle-income citizens to offset the impacts of the recent economic reforms and energy price increases.
Last week, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development revealed that around 3.7 million households have signed up for the program, representing nearly 13 million total beneficiaries, but that not all would be approved for eligibility.
The next monthly installment is scheduled to be transferred on 10 January 2018.
