Saudi Arabia pens MoU to promote slat farming

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) to promote salt farming.

The deal includes the utilization of the center’s expertise in the fields of capacity building, agricultural and environmental studies and research, and natural resources, according to the ministry’s recent statement.

It also aims at enhancing efforts between the two parties in the fields of developing research and production systems of saline agriculture, conservation and sustainable management of the environment.

The newly signed agreement will focus on the fields of vegetation development, combating desertification, adapting to climate change, holding capacity development programs for Saudi technicians and farmers, in addition to resettling, implementing and developing production systems of saline agriculture.
