Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information announced on Wednesday a decision to convert Al-Ikhbariya, a public News satellite TV channel, into a limited liability company, according to minister Auwad bin Saleh Al-Auwad.
The company will be jointly owned by the Radio and Television Corporation and the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), with each owning 50% of the new company.
According to Saudi officials the move comes in line with efforts to cope with the rapidly accelerated developments on both the local and international media landscape, in order to renovate the media sector as per the Saudi Vision 2030.
The company will target establishing a new English-language news channel alongside the current Arabic channel.
