Saudi Arabia's Red Sea, Amaala projects to provide 57,000 jobs

Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Project is expected to create 35,000 job opportunities for Saudi citizens, while the Amaala project will provide above 22,000 job opportunities, a member of the Saudi Economic Association (SEA) has said.

Situated alongside the Red Sea coast in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, the two tourism projects come as part of efforts to implement the Saudi vision 2030, Abdullah Al-Maghlouth told Saudi Gazette.

The Red Sea Project will develop tourist resorts located on more than 50 natural islands between the cities of Al-Wajh and Umluj.

Additionally, the new luxurious tourist destination Amaala project will focus on wellness and recreation in an effort to push economic growth and diversify the tourism sector, while also maintaining cultural values and a sustainable environment.

The two major projects will provide job opportunities mostly in the construction, hospitality, tourism, and entertainment sectors, Al-Maghlouth added noting that “[this would] be an important domestic and foreign investment drive.”

Saudi Arabia has been witnessing an increasing number of international projects including Amaala, Red Sea, and NEOM projects, most of which are funded by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in a bid to diversify economic resources away from oil revenues.
