Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s industrial production index dropped by 19.10% year-on-year (YoY) in April 2026, driven by decreases in both mining and quarrying and manufacturing activities.
On a monthly basis, the index also recorded a decline of 6.80%, according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
The sub-index for mining and quarrying activity also fell by 29.90% in April 2026, while registering a monthly decline of 9.30%.
Meanwhile, the manufacturing activity sub-index retreated by 6.10% YoY, mainly due to an 18.70% decline in the production of coke and refined petroleum products and a 4.20% drop in chemicals and chemical products output.
Preliminary data showed that manufacturing activity contracted by 4.80%.
