Saudi Arabia to build 120,000 housing units

Riyadh – Mubasher: Residential units will not be less than 120,000 units in 2018 and will be built in collaboration with the private sector.

Ahmed Mandoura, a senior official at the Saudi Ministry of Housing in charge of partnership with the private sector, on Sunday told Al Eqtisadiah newspaper that the government has signed agreements with 30 experienced real estate developers.

The ministry investigates the companies applied for the partnership with it to ensure their ability to build high quality units, he added.

The “shrakat” program will allocate 110,000 units to the people eligible for social housing by the end of 2017, the senior official concluded, according to Al Eqtisadiah.
