Saudi Arabia to build new refinery in Nigeria

Riyadh – Mubasher: Nigeria and Saudi Arabia are set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the building of a new refinery in the African country, along with other investments in liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Nigeria’s petroleum minister Emmanuel Kachikwu stated that an early draft of an MoU would be prepared in the first week in May, according to Reuters.

“Areas of interest will cover the existing refinery revamp, the building of a brand new refinery, LNG investments, and product supply trading in crude and refined products,” Kachikwu commented.

Saudi Aramco’s CEO Amin Nasser told Al Arabiya on the sideline of the Financial Sector Conference (FSC) that the income of Saudi Aramco equals the income of the five biggest energy companies in the world.
