Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian government has unveiled plans to establish a national space agency.
King Salman's son Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was named chairman of the new space agency.
Prince Sultan was the first Arab and Muslim astronaut after he travelled into space in 1985.

Earlier in December, the kingdom launched two Saudi-designed satellites into space from China.
Named Sat 5a and Saudi Sat 5b, the new satellites will be used to provide high-resolution images of the planet’s surface from low earth orbits, help with urban planning, monitor movements and changes on the earth’s surface.
