Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia will finish Haramain railway project which links Jeddah, Makkah, and Medinah soon after it reached to final phases of pilot testing, Transport Minister Nabeel bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi said.
This project will contribute to providing job opportunities and raising the kingdom's economic growth, along with helping visitors perform Hajj and Umrah with a first-class travel experience, Al-Amoudi told local media sources.
In May, the minister announced that the railway project's commercial operations would be begun in the third quarter of this year, reaching a full capacity of 60 million passengers in Q1 2019.
The railway network’s length is 450 kilometres.
