Saudi Arabia to ink SAR 235bn industrial deals – Minister

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia on Monday will sign SAR 235 billion agreements as part of the newly-launched programme to develop the national industry and services, the kingdom’s energy minister said.

The deals will include military industries, in addition to a contract between Aramco and the Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) after completing the feasibility study of a crude-to-petrochemical project, Al Arabiya TV reported, citing Khalid Al-Falih as saying.

He noted that Saudi Arabia will launch a SAR 40 billion programme to manufacture cars in the oil-rich kingdom.

The Saudi programme to develop national industry and services contributes to injecting around SAR 1.2 billion in the GCC country’s economy by 2030, in addition to creating 1.6 million job opportunities and boosting exports to more than SAR 1 billion.

On Sunday, Al-Falih stated that Saudi Arabia would launch a SAR 200 billion programme on Monday in an effort to develop the national industry and services.
