Saudi Arabia to invest SAR 200bn in national industries – Minister

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia will launch a SAR 200 billion programme on Monday to develop the national industry and services, the kingdom’s energy minister said.

This programme will start with SAR 70 billion projects under the patronage of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Khalid Al-Falih added, noting that his country plans to attract SAR 1.6 billion ($427 billion) investments by enhancing the domestic industry and logistics services.

The programme for industrial and services development will comprise over 330 initiatives with the participation of local and overseas private-sector firms.

On a related note, the logistics services sector is a key part of Saudi Vision 2030, transport minister Nabeel Al-Amudi said.

The programme of developing Saudi industries and services will entail implementing infrastructure projects, comprising five new airports and 2,000-kilometre railways, and digital transformation, Al-Amudi added.

The Saudi transport minister concluded his speech by revealing that the kingdom nodded to carry out SAR 135 billion investments under the programme for industrial and services development, which includes around 60 initiatives.
