Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources plans to launch the country’s first renewable energy project in 2017, according to local newspapers.
The project comes in the framework of the government efforts to 9,500 MW of electricity from solar and wind sources.
Announced in April, the Vision 2030 strategy sets 9.5 GW as an ‘initial target’ to help build the renewables sector, noting that energy consumption will triple in the next 14 years, they stated.
