Saudi Arabia welcomes US sanctions on Iranian oil exports

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has welcomed the US announcement for tightening sanctions on Iranian oil exports, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing the kingdom’s minister of foreign affairs, Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, as saying.

The US secretary of state Mike Pompeo announced an end to six months of waivers in May under which Tehran’s largest eight buyers, mostly in Asia, were allowed to resume importing a limited amount of barrels.

The kingdom will coordinate with other oil producers to make up for any shortfalls in oil supply and maintain the balance of the market.
