Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi minister of finance, Mohammed Al Jadaan, said on Sunday that the government will now repay around SAR 100 million for contractors, adding that all delayed payment will soon be paid.
There are currently no plans to cancel any new projects, and the focus is towards improving spending efficiency, Al Jadaan added in an interview with Al Arabiya TV.
Al Jadaan also said that the Saudi government will issue bonds and bills worth nearly SAR 70 billion, at reasonable prices, to support the kingdom’s budget deficit.
He also noted that the plan is to balance the budget by 2020, and that the public debt level exceeded 30%.
