Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Oil Company, better known as Saudi Aramco, extended its offer to buy a stake in Arctic liquefied natural gas (LNG) 2 project, joining Russian gas producer Novatek, TASS news agency reported on Monday, citing Saudi oil minister Khalid Al Falih.
“We are hoping that they will agree to Aramco’s offer,” Falih told TASS in an interview.
He noted that the bid will be profitable for both companies, adding that Aramco, the world's largest oil producer, is looking into multiple projects in Russia and Arctic LNG 2 is one of them.
“Novatek is a very sure investor and they are looking for the best deal and so is Aramco,” the minister said.
Al Falih said that the company is looking at petrochemical projects as well.
