Saudi Aramco sees record historic single-day natgas production in August

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) recorded total hydrocarbon production during the first nine months of 2020 of 12.4 million barrels per day (b/d) of oil equivalent, of which 9.2 million b/d was crude oil.

The oil giant delivered crude and other products with 100% reliability in the third quarter (Q3) of 2020, continuing its strong track record of supply reliability, according to a press release on Tuesday.

It, moreover, saw a record historic single-day natural gas production of 10.7 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd) on 6 August 2020 from both conventional and unconventional fields.

“Successful exploration activities resulted in two successful unconventional field discoveries in the third quarter, both in the northern part of the kingdom; one field with both oil and gas reservoirs and another field with a gas reservoir,” the company said.

Earlier this day, the company reported SAR 44.21 billion ($11.79 billion) in net profits for the quarter ended 30 September, down by 44.6% when compared to SAR 79.84 billion ($21.29 billion) in the prior-year quarter.

This fall in earnings reflects the impact of lower crude oil prices and volumes sold, and weaker refining and chemicals margins, Aramco explained.
