Cairo - Mubasher: Saudi Aramco has verbally told the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) of the suspension to the agreed oil shipments for October, the Egyptian ministry of Petroleum's official spokesman Hamdy Abd Elaziz told Mubasher.
EGPC has contracted 700,000 tonnes of diesel and gasoline from international markets, an amount that was supposed to be supplied by Aramco, added Abd Elaziz.
The $23 billion agreement between Egypt and Saudi Arabia to provide Egypt with 700,000 tonnes of refined oil products per month for five years, is still valid, he explained.
