Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is known as inflation, increased by 2.4% year-on-year to 106.8 points in October, from 104.3 points, according to the General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) data on Tuesday.
The CPI growth was attributed to an 11.5% rise in transportation section, followed by a 10.2% hike in tobacco section, while miscellaneous personal goods and services inched up 0.1%, the GASTAT added.
On the other hand, clothing and footwear section fell 5%, while housing, water, electricity, and gas section tumbled 3.6%.
Month-on-month, The oil-rich kinmgdom’s inflation shed 0.3% in October, versus 107.1 points.
