Saudi Binladin repays SAR100m dues – Paper

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Binladin Group has repaid around SAR100 million, representing one month’s salary for its foreign and Saudi workers, Saudi newspaper Al Watan reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.

Despite paying the dues for a large number of workers, there are many who have not received their salaries as the company repaid only those whose salaries did not exceed SAR 4,000.

A total of 177 Saudi employees were terminated by the construction group because they did not show for work for more than 15 successive days without a formal notice to the company, a source told the newspaper.

The construction firm gave out exit visas for around 80,000 works and paid the salaries of more than 35,000 employees, the newspaper said, noting that the company said that more workers will leave after receiving their dues in mid-Ramadan.
