Saudi CITC marks 48m wireless telecom registrations in Kingdom

Riyadh – Mubasher: The number of subscriptions in wireless telecommunications services reached 48 million subscriptions, while the number of operational landlines in Saudi Arabia reached 3.5 million lines, new data showed.

Subscriptions in integrated broadband services offered by telecom operators reached 24 million subscriptions, according to a new report by the Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) released on Wednesday.

The CITC estimates that there are 24 million internet users in the Kingdom.

Total directed revenues for telecom companies in Saudi Arabia reached around SAR 72 billion in 2016, while spending on telecom and IT services is estimated at SAR 130 billion, according to the report.
