Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) issued a public consultation document to issue fresh licences for virtual internet of things (IoT).
The document also included proposed amendments to the current operators' regulations that provide telecommunications services.
New licences of IoT will meet the increasing demand for the services, and to spur digitalising networks and services in all fields, the CITC added.
These services will help the public sector to digitalise its services as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
CITC’s document will contribute to enhancing competition in the kingdom’s telecommunications sector and diversifying services.
Investment opportunities in Saudi IoT market are large and they are expected to reach SAR 30 billion until 2030, Tarig Enaya, senior vice president in the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) enterprise business unit, stated on Sunday.
