Saudi Chemical’s unit rolls out agreement with GSK Limited

Riyadh - Mubasher: AJA Pharmaceutical Industries Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Chemical Company, has entered into a non-exclusive agreement with Glaxo Saudi Arabia Limited (GSK) to provide comprehensive medical marketing and promotion services.

The agreement, signed on 15 June, authorizes AJA Pharma to deploy its specialized medical field teams to support a wide range of GSK’s pharmaceutical products across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This partnership is expected to bolster the subsidiary’s presence in the local healthcare market while leveraging its technical and operational expertise to meet the promotional objectives of one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical entities.

Under the terms of the agreement, AJA Pharma will be responsible for the promotion, marketing, and provision of medical services for an extensive portfolio of GSK products. The execution of these services will be managed by specialized medical and technical cadres within AJA Pharma’s field teams.

These teams are tasked with enhancing the market presence of GSK’s pharmaceutical offerings through targeted medical communication and professional marketing strategies tailored to the Saudi Arabian healthcare landscape.

The financial structure of the contract is performance-oriented, with the total consideration linked to specific sales milestones and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).

Meanwhile, the financial compensation is tied to a percentage of GSK’s product sales within the Saudi market, as well as the achievement of predefined operational targets throughout the duration of the contract.

Saudi Chemical expects that the annual value of this agreement will represent less than 5% of the group’s total annual revenue.

This collaboration aligns with the listed group’s broader corporate strategy to expand its footprint in the medical marketing and contract sales organization (CSO) sectors.

By providing specialized services to international pharmaceutical firms, the company aims to diversify its revenue streams and strengthen its role as a vital intermediary in the regional pharmaceutical supply chain. The agreement was negotiated on a standard commercial basis, ensuring that all terms and conditions were established under arm’s-length principles.

The contract is set for an initial duration of three years and includes provisions for renewal upon the agreement of both parties.

Last May, Saudi Chemical inked a contract with the National Company for Mechanical Systems (NCMS) to supply military materials.
