Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia-based Flynas is negotiating with a slew of international banks to finance purchasing 120 Airbus A320neo aircraft, CEO Bander Al-Mohanna said on Tuesday.
The Saudi budget airline, part owned by Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal’s firm, will receive the first batch of jets during the fourth quarter of 2018, Al-Mohanna told Al Arabiya in an interview on the sidelines of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) event at Dubai.
The CEO noted that there are talks with Airbus to add a number of new A321neo aircraft.
The top official forecast that passengers’ number will increase by 1 million persons to reach 7.5 million over 2018, compared to 6.5 million passengers a year earlier.
In February 2018, Flynas’ CEO indicated that his company transferred more than 6.4 million passengers via 60,000 local and global flights in 2017.
Flynas, which is partially owned by Kingdom Holding Co (KHC), plans to implement initial public offering (IPO) for its shares by the end of 2018, or earlier 2019.
