Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) is expected to sign project agreements with Jordan, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) stated, citing Jordan News Agency (Petra) as reporting.
These agreements aim to finance development projects in Jordan, including the Desert Highway, SPA added.
SFD delegation head Abdullah bin Mohammad Al-Khowaitir said that the SFD was “keen to continue cooperation with Jordan", noting that his delegation was planning to follow up on SFD-implemented projects in Jordan.
Earlier this year, the two countries signed 15 deals for various economic and investment opportunities in Jordan, including the establishment of the Saudi-Jordanian Investment Fund Company, which will invest around $3 billion, Petra reported.
Saudi and Jordanian officials signed a $320 million memorandum to treat and rehabilitate a city project in Riyadh added to a $54 million deal to establish a joint medical services development venture.
Earlier in 2017, Jordan’s Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation signed $105 million agreement with the SFD to get a loan for reconstructing and rehabilitating the Amman-Aqaba Desert Highway.
