Saudi IoT market value reaches SAR 3bn/yr – Ministry

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Internet of Things (IoT) market registered a 26% annual growth to around SAR 3 billion ($800 million), Saudi vice minister of Communications and Information Technology Haytham AlOhali said.

The kingdom has launched the Narrowband IoT locally, the second Saudi International Exhibition & Conference for IoT said in a tweet citing AlOhali as saying.

More than 300 international firms and startups participate in the largest technology event held in Riyadh from 13 to 15 February.

Innovation in IoT can accelerate the transformation of the business sector, Mobily’s chief business and wholesale officer Majed Al Otaibi noted.
