Saudi Riyal hits June 2017 low in spot market Monday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Riyal registered its lowest rate against the US dollar since June 2017 in the spot market on Monday, reaching 3.7514, Refinitiv data revealed.

The currency fell after some media sources reported that Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who disappeared recently, was killed in the Kingdom’s consulate in Turkey.

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) maintains a peg of SAR 3.75 to the dollar. The riyal sually fluctuates between 3.7498 and 3.7503.
