Saudi SAMA’s banking deposits edge down 0.5% in October

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority’s (SAMA) banking deposits shed 0.5% year-on-year in October 2017, reaching SAR 1.601 trillion, compared to SAR 1.609 trillion, the monthly bulletin showed.

The demand deposits increased 3.7% to SAR 995.07 million in October 2017, from SAR 959.58 million in the year-ago period, the SAMA's bulletin added.

Banking credit (loans) decreased 1.76%, reaching SAR 1.41 trillion in October 2017, compared to SAR 1.43 trillion in the corresponding month in the year earlier.

The Saudi body’s banking deposits tumbled to SAR 1.601 trillion in October, from SAR 1.602 trillion in September.

The SAMA’s demand deposits rose 1.8%, reaching SAR 995.07 million in October, compared to SAR 977.85 million in September.
