Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Stock Exchange, or Tadawul, strengthened on Tuesday, with the main gauge adding 4.01% or 221.28 points to close at 5,746 points.
More than 401 million shares were exchanged in 150,000 transactions at turnover exceeding SAR 6.4 billion.
163 companies traded moved higher, eclipsing decliners that amounted to four companies.
Arabian Shield was the best performer, with a jump of 9.99% to SAR 19.6. It was followed by Solidarity (+9.95%) then Budget (+9.93%).
On the negative front, dairy firm Almarai was the biggest drag, with a fall of 3.77% to SAR 61. It was followed by Alalamiya that shed 3.44% to SAR 36.5, then STC that was off 0.51% to SAR 60.75.
Alinma Bank was the top active with traded volume exceeding 88.7 million shares. It was followed by Saudi Kayan with above 56.5 million shares, then property developer Dar Al Arkan with more than 35.7 million shares.
Alinma also recorded the biggest number of transactions (9,769), followed by Alalamiya (9,300) and Alandalus (9,281).
