Saudi banks finance car imports with SAR 3bn in October – SAMA

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi commercial banks financed imports of cars with SAR 3.04 billion in October 2017, compared to SAR 2.06 billion in October 2016, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority’s (SAMA) data revealed.

Year-on-year, the Kingdom-based banks financed the private sector imports with SAR 13.4 billion in October 2017, compared to SAR 13.8 billion.

Private sector’s imports of food commodities reached near SAR 1.7 billion in October 2017, compared to SAR 2.1 billion in the year ago period, the SAMA’s monthly report added.

The Kingdom’s banks financed construction materials’ imports with SAR 1.3 billion, while the finance for textiles and clothes stood at SAR 230 million.

The banks financed importing machines with SAR 678 million, followed by devices with SAR 374 million, and other commodities with SAR 6.2 billion.
